Bill's Playhouse

Welcome to Bill's Playhouse. My lovely models and i specialize in crime scene simulations, similar to what you see on television and in movies. The material here is strictly PG (no violence or nudity). Please note that these photos are simulations, not actual crime scenes. None of my models (or me) are ever injured while shooting photosets for Bill's Playhouse.

Frequently Asked Questions

I get asked alot of questions about this website, so i thought i would answer them and tell you the story behind Bill's Playhouse at the same time. If you have a question you don't see answered on this page feel free to contact me.

What is this website all about?

Quite simply it's a place for me to post my portfolio online in hopes of getting hired for photography work.

Why crime scene simulations?

There is alot of interest in this type of material, and very few photographers specializing in it. I have a full time job, a family, and other interests as well, so main stream photography (weddings, portraits, etc) is not a viable option for me. I decided a few years ago to make this my niche and so far it has worked out well for me.

How did you get started simulating crime scenes?

I was bouncing around the internet one day about five years ago and noticed on websites like Flickr, Photobucket and some others that there were quite a few CSI themed photos. Some of them were simply people fooling around, while others were quite ambitious. I then found links to two professional photographers that specialized in simulated crime scenes. Both of these renowned photgraphers had books published with these images in them. After seeing that and also noticing that half of the shows on television were crime shows it became obvious to me that there was alot of interest in this material.I was also reminded of the old detective magazines of my youth and how popular the cover photos were. I thought i might try my hand at crime scene photos and i'm happy to say it has worked out well for me.The first "model" to pose for me was my lovely wife. We would shoot photos every month and when i had enough material i posted some of it on the internet. Soon after that professional models saw the photos and asked about posing for me. After working with enough models i had sufficent material for a website, and such was the birth of Bill's Playhouse!

Why do you sell your photos and solicit custom sets?

Like anyone else with a website i have expenses. Selling photos and shooting custom sets allows me to hire models and cover my other expenses relative to the site.

Who purchases photos and orders custom sets?

Alot of the people i deal with are writers who are either working on stories and need some visual reference, or have already written stories and would like to see images of them. Most of the people who visit this website are fans of crime shows like CSI, Law and Order, etc. and/or fans of horror movies.

The people who order custom sets like the idea of someone making a little movie for them, which is something the models and i also enjoy.

Why no nudity or blood in your sets?

It's easier for me to hire models when there is no nudity involved. More important is that i'm a happily married man and don't feel it is appropriate to be around nude (or even topless) women.

As for the blood unless you are a professional make up artist (which i am not) it's difficult to have fake blood in a shot without it looking cheap or cheasy. It also slows down the shoot.
